Work Experience
Condabilla Fish farm provides work experience
the whole year round for Australian and overseas students
studying aquaculture related subjects. Your work experience
can last anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months.
Shorter periods may be available however
it is not encouraged due to the minimal experience you would
gain in such a small time frame.
During your stay you will
achieve hands on experience in the day to day running of
the farm, participate in harvesting (yes even in winter…bring
your wetsuit and beanie), packaging, farm maintenance and
construction of new developments.
Everyone is expected to
be involved regardless of your experience as part of your
learning. Should you require accommodation during your work
experience, a private room with bathroom is available in
the workers quarters on farm for $50 per week (this fee
is non-refundable and must be paid in advance).
Food is provided and cooking
duties are shared amongst the staff staying in the quarters.
Wireless broadband is available, as are numerous aquaculture
resources and texts.
Bookings are essential.
Successful applications are
at the discretion of the farm manager and are influenced
by farm schedules during that period of the year. Special
projects and activities required as part of your work experience,
must be submitted with your application.
